The new series of Antiquity Studies stands as an ideal continuation of the magazine Antiquity Studiesfounded in the early 1980s under the aegis of the Antiquities sector of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the then University of Lecce, to host contributions on History and Archaeology, with particular reference to the Mediterranean area.
In the new version it is intended to maintain the international character already present in the first phase of the journal, strengthening its interdisciplinary approach to better reflect the most current methodological orientations of archeology and ancient history. With firm roots in the tradition of studies that distinguish the various disciplinary areas, the journal intends to provide a space for innovative research, also allowing for broader and more immediate fruition through publication. online.
The magazine’s bodies can count on the collaboration of experts of recognized prestige, to whom we extend our thanks for wanting to join the new project, confirming in some cases the commitment already made in the first phase of the magazine.
With the hope of being able to contribute to the development of the scientific debate on topics that broadly concern ancient history and archaeology, we express our willingness to welcome and make new research known in a perspective that is no longer limited from a geographical point of view, attentive to methodological innovation and interdisciplinary dialogue.
