Tocilesco, G. G. (1900) : Excavations and archaeological research in Romania, communications made to the Academy of Inscriptions and Belles-Lettres of Paris, 1892 – 1899Bucharest
G. Tocilesco is one of the pioneers of archeology and epigraphy in Romania at the end of the 19th century. He notably worked in Dobroudja, thus identifying the site of Tropaeum Traiani.
Although trained in Vienna, he is French-speaking and presents the results of this work at the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres. It is these communications which are collected here with an epigraphic supplement. The main part concerns his work in Dobruja, with three articles on the discoveries of Adamclisi, an article on the vallum of Cernavoda and an article on different research both in Dobruja and in the rest of Romania at the time.
